James Samaritan connects communities and churches to build strong support systems for foster care children and families, providing resources, mentoring, and partnerships to meet critical needs and empower vulnerable youth, reducing reliance on government intervention.
Ways to Serve
Through the partnership First Baptist has with James Samaritan you, your family or Connect Group can get involved through volunteering. Here is how”
- Community Outreach supports foster caregivers, children, and youth.
- Provide childcare for monthly caregiver connect groups
- Become a tutor for foster children
- Sponsor a quarterly family meal
- Seasonal support for back to school and Christmas outreach
- Life Network: Mentoring teens and young adults aged 16-21
- Serve at a monthly connect event for young adults
- Become a mentor
- Provide profession services, internships, or life-skill education
- Royal Family Kids Camp & Club a week-long overnight camp serving foster children 7-12
- Prepare for camp by hosting a material collection drive
- Help by providing a meal, setting up, or tearing down the week of camp
- Become a camp staff member or big brother/sister for the camp
- Become a mentor the 2nd Saturday of each month
