Learn More About this Partnership

Mission

El Redil de Belén is a Gospel-centered, Bible-rooted Baptist church located in the heart of Medellín, Colombia. It is a family of Jesus’ disciples, committed to glorifying God in their city by living out the Great Commission in the everyday rhythms of life. Its mission is to be and make disciples—people who are connected to God, growing together in the church, and living for God’s purposes in the world. The church serves in a rapidly growing neighborhood of over 35,000 people, where no other Christian church is present. In this community filled with young families and deep spiritual need, El Redil de Belén strives to be a beacon of hope, love, and truth through intentional discipleship and acts of practical service that reflect the heart of Christ. First Baptist Church has enjoyed a growing and thriving partnership with El Redil since 2015 and continues to go, serve, and encourage.

Opportunities to Make a Difference

God uses short-term mission teams, such as those from First Baptist Church of Covington, to create a profound and lasting impact on El Redil de Belén and the hearts of the team members who come to Medellín. The church partners with these teams to:

• Build His Church (Romans 1:11–12): They strengthen young leaders, host leadership retreats, and equip deacons, parents, teachers, and entrepreneurs with a vision for the Kingdom of God.

• Share His Hope (1 Peter 3:15): They engage in evangelistic “TALKS” on topics like work, relationships, and spirituality, and foster meaningful street conversations through their “story exchange” outreach.

• See His Kingdom (2 Corinthians 4:15): They visit and support local ministries that serve vulnerable populations, such as single mothers, at-risk children, and indigenous families.

The outcome is transformative: lives are changed, leaders are empowered, and the Gospel is proclaimed. This partnership embodies the beauty of the global Church—united in mission, love, and a shared passion to make Jesus known in Medellín and beyond.
